Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

What is truffle cake and why is it called truffle?

Accepted Answer

Truffle cake is a rich, decadent chocolate cake featuring multiple layers of moist chocolate sponge filled and covered with smooth chocolate ganache. It's called "truffle" because the chocolate ganache coating resembles the appearance and luxurious texture of chocolate truffles (the confectionery), not the expensive mushroom. The cake offers an intensely chocolatey experience with a velvety, melt-in-mouth texture that chocolate lovers crave.

Question 2

What's the difference between truffle cake and regular chocolate cake?

Accepted Answer

Regular chocolate cake has a lighter chocolate flavor with buttercream or whipped cream frosting. Truffle cake is significantly richer, made with higher cocoa content, and covered entirely in thick chocolate ganache (a mixture of chocolate and cream). Truffle cakes are denser, more indulgent, and have an intense chocolate taste, while regular chocolate cakes are fluffier with milder sweetness.

Question 3

How much does a truffle cake cost in India for home delivery?

Accepted Answer

Truffle cake prices in India range from ₹450-₹700 for 500g, ₹800-₹1,400 for 1kg, and ₹1,500-₹2,500 for 2kg. Premium truffle cakes with exotic toppings cost ₹1,200-₹2,000 per kg. Delivery charges vary: free for orders above ₹500-₹1,000 locally, ₹50-₹200 for same-city delivery, and ₹200-₹600 for intercity orders depending on distance.

Question 4

How long does truffle cake stay fresh after delivery?

Accepted Answer

Truffle cake stays fresh for 1-2 days at room temperature in cool weather (below 25°C). When refrigerated properly in an airtight container, it lasts 4-6 days. Due to its ganache coating, it handles temperature better than cream cakes. Remove from refrigerator 15-20 minutes before serving for the best soft, creamy texture and full chocolate flavor.

Question 5

Can truffle cake be delivered on the same day across India?

Accepted Answer

Same-day truffle cake delivery is available in most major Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur. Orders must be placed before 12-2 PM depending on the bakery. For smaller towns, next-day delivery is standard. Express and midnight delivery options cost an additional ₹150-₹500.

Question 6

Is eggless truffle cake available for online orders?

Accepted Answer

Yes, virtually all online bakeries in India offer eggless truffle cakes that taste equally rich and delicious. Eggless versions use condensed milk, yogurt, or special egg replacers to maintain the moist texture. The chocolate ganache is naturally egg-free, so the overall taste remains authentic. Simply select the eggless option when ordering.

Question 7

What are the best truffle cake flavors available online?

Accepted Answer

Popular truffle cake varieties include classic dark chocolate truffle, white chocolate truffle, milk chocolate truffle, chocolate hazelnut truffle, and Ferrero Rocher truffle. Premium options include Belgian chocolate truffle, coffee truffle, salted caramel truffle, and Nutella truffle. Many bakeries also offer half-and-half combinations like dark-white chocolate or Oreo truffle fusion cakes.

Question 8

Can I customize a truffle cake with photos or messages?

Accepted Answer

Yes, truffle cakes can be customized with edible photo prints on top, personalized messages written in chocolate or icing, name decorations, and age numbers. You can also add chocolate shavings, fresh berries, gold dust, or specific toppings. Custom designs may cost ₹100-₹500 extra depending on complexity. Upload your requirements during checkout for best results.

Question 9

Which occasions are truffle cakes most popular for?

Accepted Answer

Truffle cakes are incredibly popular for birthdays (especially for chocolate lovers), anniversaries, Valentine's Day, marriage proposals, and romantic celebrations. They're also ordered for corporate events, farewell parties, congratulations gifts, and festive occasions like Diwali and Christmas. The rich, indulgent taste makes truffle cake the top choice when you want to make celebrations feel extra special and luxurious.
