Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

What exactly is a rasmalai cake and how is it different from regular cakes?

Accepted Answer

A rasmalai cake is a fusion dessert that combines traditional rasmalai flavors with modern cake layers. It features sponge cake soaked in flavored milk (often cardamom or saffron), topped with cream cheese or whipped cream frosting, and garnished with pistachios and almonds. Unlike regular cakes, it has the distinctive taste of the beloved Indian sweet rasmalai.

Question 2

How should I store my rasmalai cake after it arrives?

Accepted Answer

Rasmalai cakes must be refrigerated immediately upon delivery due to their milk-based ingredients and cream toppings. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge where it will stay fresh for 24-48 hours. Always consume it chilled for the best flavor and texture, and never leave it at room temperature for more than 30 minutes.

Question 3

Can rasmalai cake be delivered to tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India?

Accepted Answer

Yes, many online bakeries now deliver rasmalai cakes to smaller cities and towns across India. However, delivery to remote areas might take longer and could involve higher shipping costs. It's best to check your pincode availability on the bakery's website before placing an order.

Question 4

Is next-day delivery available for rasmalai cake orders?

Accepted Answer

Most online bakeries offer next-day delivery for rasmalai cakes when ordered before the daily cutoff time. Since these cakes contain perishable dairy ingredients, they're prepared fresh and dispatched with proper cooling arrangements to maintain quality during transit.

Question 5

What size options are available when ordering rasmalai cake online?

Accepted Answer

Rasmalai cakes typically come in multiple sizes: half kg (serves 4-6 people), 1 kg (serves 8-10 people), 1.5 kg (serves 12-15 people), and 2 kg or larger for bigger gatherings. Some bakeries also offer mini rasmalai cake jars or individual portions for single servings.

Question 6

Are there any allergen concerns I should know about with rasmalai cakes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, rasmalai cakes contain several common allergens including dairy (milk, cream, paneer), nuts (pistachios, almonds), and gluten from the cake base. They also typically contain eggs unless you specifically order an eggless version. Always inform the bakery about any allergies when placing your order.

Question 7

Can I order a rasmalai cake for midnight surprise delivery?

Accepted Answer

Question 9

Can rasmalai cake be customized for special dietary needs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, many bakeries offer customization options including eggless rasmalai cakes for vegetarians, sugar-free versions using natural sweeteners for diabetics, and reduced-fat options. However, making it completely dairy-free is challenging since milk-based ingredients are core to the authentic rasmalai flavor.

Question 10

How do online bakeries ensure rasmalai cake stays fresh during delivery?

Accepted Answer

Reputable online bakeries use insulated packaging with ice packs or gel packs to maintain cold temperature during transit. The cakes are packed in sturdy boxes to prevent damage, and delivery partners are briefed on handling perishable items. For longer distances, some use refrigerated vehicles to ensure freshness.
