Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

What's the typical price range for designer and theme cakes across different Indian cities?

Accepted Answer

Metro Cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad):
Basic designer cakes (1 kg): ₹1,200 - ₹2,000
Premium theme cakes (1 kg): ₹2,500 - ₹4,500
Luxury customized cakes (1 kg): ₹5,000 - ₹10,000+

Question 2

What is the price range for designer cakes in India?

Accepted Answer

Designer cakes typically cost ₹900-₹2,000 per kg for basic designs, ₹2,000-₹4,500 for premium themes, and ₹5,000+ for luxury custom cakes. Prices vary by city, with metro areas being 20-30% higher than smaller towns. Delivery charges range from free (orders above ₹1,000) to ₹800 for long-distance intercity orders.

Question 3

How many days in advance should I order a theme cake?

Accepted Answer

Simple theme cakes need 2-3 days advance booking, while complex 3D designer cakes require 5-7 days. Wedding or multi-tier cakes should be ordered 2-4 weeks ahead. During peak seasons like festivals or Valentine's Day, add 2-3 extra days to avoid disappointment.

Question 4

Can I customize the cake design with my own images or ideas?

Accepted Answer

Yes, most bakeries accept custom designs. You can upload photos, Pinterest references, or sketches during ordering. Popular customizations include edible photo prints, 3D fondant figures, specific color schemes, personalized messages, and company logos for corporate events.

Question 5

What are the most popular theme cake designs available?

Accepted Answer

Top themes include cartoon characters (Disney, superheroes, Doraemon), professional themes (doctor, engineer), hobby-based designs (cricket, gaming), and celebration themes (baby shower, graduation). Gender reveal, pinata cakes, and geode cakes are currently trending.

Question 6

Do designer cakes come in eggless options?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Almost all online bakeries offer eggless versions of their designer cakes. You can select this option during checkout. Eggless cakes maintain the same design quality and taste, making them perfect for vegetarians and those with egg allergies.

Question 7

Can I get multiple flavors in one designer cake?

Accepted Answer

Yes, most bakeries offer multi-flavor options through layered designs (different flavor per layer) or half-and-half divisions. Popular combinations include chocolate-vanilla, strawberry-pineapple, and red velvet-chocolate. Multi-flavor cakes may cost an additional ₹100-₹300 per kg.

Question 8

Is same-day delivery available for theme cakes?

Accepted Answer

Same-day delivery is available in major cities if you order before 12-2 PM, but design options will be limited to simple themes. Complex designer cakes cannot be delivered same-day due to preparation time. Express delivery charges range from ₹200-₹500 extra.

Question 9

How do I ensure my designer cake arrives safely?

Accepted Answer

Reputable bakeries use triple-layered boxes, foam inserts, gel ice packs, and trained delivery partners. They provide real-time tracking and photo documentation. Choose bakeries with good reviews and damage replacement policies. For long-distance orders, opt for refrigerated vehicle delivery options.

Question 10

What's the difference between fondant and cream-based designer cakes?

Accepted Answer

Fondant cakes have a smooth, matte finish ideal for intricate 3D designs and sculptures, lasting longer at room temperature. Cream cakes have a softer texture, require refrigeration, and offer better taste but limited design complexity. Fondant costs 30-50% more than cream-based designs.

Question 11

Can designer cakes be delivered to small towns and remote areas?

Accepted Answer

Yes, many online bakeries now deliver pan-India, including tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Delivery to remote areas takes 1-2 days longer and costs ₹400-₹800 extra. Check pincode serviceability on the bakery's website before ordering, and consider weather conditions during transit.
